Feel Better ~ CASE Study #101

Good evening!  Boy, it’s seems like I’ve posted a lot this week!  Hope you all are not sick of me! LOL  Tonight’s card is for the new CASE Study Challenge!  It is our last week to be inspired by the lovely and talented, Kristii Lockart.  I had a few different idea for this challenge, but kind of went off on a tangent after spending some time in my patterned paper basket.  I came across some lovely Websters Pages that needed some love and had similar colours to the inspiration card.  For my winged creature, I picked some fun wood butterflies.

How are you inspired?  Stamping on kraft, the flowers, the bird, the sentiment? All of it?  Come and have some fun over on the CASE Study blog!  See what the Design Team has stamped up and then join in!  You won’t be disappointed!

Papertrey Ink July Blog Hop & Third Blog-iversary Celebration!!

IMG_5598

Good morning!  Welcome to my entry for the July Papertrey Ink Blog Hop! Wow, it feels like I’ve spent the whole week with all of you PTI friends!  And I guess we have!  What a fun Stamp-a-faire weekend!  After an exhausting but quite enjoyable weekend, I wasn’t sure if I had it in me to make another card so soon…but I had so much fun with the Pretty Peonies stamps and dies (the dies are the BEST!) I put them to use again.  Now this card took a LONG time to make…I fiddled with the layers, sizes and colours of the peonies forEVER until I just said, “Enough!” and started gluing down! LOL  Here’s our inspiration photo :)  Thanks for visiting and on an extra special day for me!  It’s my third year of blogging!  If you want to join in the celebration…scroll down…if not, thanks for visiting and see you on the HOP!

july25ptibloghop

Well, it’s hard to believe it’s been 3 years of blogging!  I guess I’m supposed to say something profound and sentimental…but I think I do that throughout the year.  The biggest change this year was the move to the new house…and my new studio.  I feel more and more comfortable in it every day and more and more blessed that I even have it.  To celebrate, I’ve gathered a few things from the studio to offer up as an Anniversary goodie bag!IMG_5601

1 package of Bazzill Card Shoppe card stock (100lb weight)- courtesy of the fine folks over on the Bazzill Basics website!

1 package Prima fabric buttons

1 package Maya Road Organza flowers

2 pieces of lace from the Funkie Junkie

1 organza flower from the Funkie Junkie

1 small bag full of fun embellishments (Studio Calico wood veneer butterflies and tiny stars, resin flowers, mini wood clothespins, Studio Calico metal badge)

1 new W Plus 9 Folk Art Florals stamp set

2 rolls of washi tape

How does that sound?  To win, simply leave a comment below by Sunday, July 29th!  How easy is that?! LOL  I need to be able to contact the winner so if you do not have your Blogger account hooked up to your email, please leave your email in your comment or come back on Monday, July 30, to see if you’ve won.  The winner will have 3 days to contact me, otherwise I’ll pick a new name.  Thanks for celebrating with me!  YOU ALL are what I am most thankful for in this blog journey.  So today and everyday, I will quote the woman my friend Lynn met one day and say, “I am Blessed.”  Enjoy the rest of the hop!

Keep Calm and Seize the Cupcake ~ Diva Dare Project

cupcakeproject

Hi everyone!  Just a little heads up that I’m hosting the Diva Dare post today over on the Verve Blog!  It’s birthday central at Verve this month with several Divas plus Julee celebrating their special days.  So the theme this time round is “Birthday!”  I’ve been playing with my Keep Calm app this past month and thought it would be fun to make my own little poster!  I actually googled “Keep Calm font” and was able to download it for free! Bonus!  I knew I wanted to use the Seize the Cupcake stamp, but the “seize” didn’t quite look right with the rest of the wording so I performed a little clear stamp surgery! EEK!  This was so fun to make, though :)

seizethecupcake

Now, you can’t have a birthday post without some props…I was going to make a paper cupcake, but that’s no fun to eat after the photo shoot!  LOL  So I went to our cupcake store here in town and picked up some lemon cupcakes (YES, they were delicious! ACK!)  I created little flags for each cupcake, making the one for the birthday girl a little more special :)  For more details, check out the Verve Blog…and then join in the fun!  You could win some Verve dollars!  Thanks for visiting!  And remember, carpe cupcake!

Papertrey Ink Tie Dye Challenge ~ Miss You and the Final Picture!

IMG_5587

Hi Happy Stampers!  Well, it’s the LAST post for this year’s Stamp-a-faire!  What a whirlwind!  This last card is for the Tie Dye Technique challenge.  I did the shaving cream and reinkers technique to make a marble effect background.  I LOVED Ashley Newell’s photo frame that she made so was inspired to make my own with a square nestabilities.  My photo frame dies are in the mail as we speak (thanks, Lynn!).  I used Botanical Silhouettes to stamp the background flowers and for the sentiment.  I had so much fun visiting with you all in the forums or on your blogs and I will miss you all!  Hope you’ll come and visit here at the old blog or come to BC!!  LOL  As much as I love being with fellow stampers, I don’t know if I could have created all I did in 24 hours with anyone here! ACK!!  I visit too much!  Last year at Stamp-a-faire, I only made the make and takes that were provided…no extra stamping for me!  I was visiting, emailing/FBing friends, and shopping!! LOL  So, without further ado…here is the final lineup…

IMG_5593

A huge and gracious thank you to the Nichole and her amazing Design Team for all the fun and inspiration provided this weekend.  I can only imagine all the hard work that went into this…and I so appreciate it :)  I had a blast hanging out in the forums and creating :)  See you next year?  You bet!  Group hug!!

Papertrey Ink Camp Card Set Challenge

IMG_5589

Good evening!  I was busy for a good part of today, but managed to come home and make the last 2 challenges for Papertrey Ink’s Summer Camp Stamp-a-faire.  What a stamping marathon! Whew!  These cards are for the Camp Card Set Challenge.  I watched most of the videos on making different kind of card sets then fashioned mine after Betsy’s.  I loved using the edgers die to create a little more visual interest.  I then used my Pretty Peonies to stamp right on the cards, then used the dies to create one solid peony to pop off in the middle of the outlined ones.  The large sentiments are from Giga Guidelines.  I used “thank-you” and “just because” to make 5 cards :)  I didn’t have a brown paper bag at home (they are back in my classroom!) to make Betsy’s card sack,so I simply tied a satin ribbon and bow with a little tag.

Oh, another badge!  Back in a flash with the final challenge and the grande finale!

Papertrey Ink Homemade Embellishments #2

I couldn’t decide whose homemade embellishment tutorial to watch over on the PTI Homemade Embellishment Challenge, so I made 2 cards…here’s #2.  Oh, I love you Betsy Veldman!  I have struggled to make medallions without a die and she showed us a super fun and easy way to make them with the Parisian Doily Die!  Seriously, you’ve got to check the tutorial out!   Thanks for hanging with me today…I think this may be the last post for tonight…I’m bagged!  LOL  Will finish up tomorrow :)  Sweet dreams!

Papertrey Ink Homemade Embellishments #1

IMG_5580

Good evening!  Well, I got 2 cards done for the Homemade Embellishments Challenge…HAD to play along with Dawn again.  She showed us how to layer die cuts using different patterned papers.  i wanted to do a slightly different embellishment to challenge myself so I dug out the Beautiful Blossom dies and cut all three sizes out with 3 different patterned papers.  Then I mixed and matched until I came up with a layering I liked.  I’ve made a frame like the one Maile made a while back and embossed it with a woodgrain embossing folder.  And because I just got these sweet Studio Calico wood veneer butterflies, I had to add that too :)  Oh, another badge!  I’m almost as tired now as I was at last year’s SAF!  LOL  I may do the last 2 challenges tomorrow…see you in a few minutes with the next card for this challenge

Papertrey Ink Limited Supplies Challenge

IMG_5578

Yes, here’s another post…I warned y’all this morning there would be! LOL  It’s been a crazy and fun day here in the studio and after my last project, I had to go and eat a late lunch/early dinner! LOL  So now I’m raring to go again!  I still have 3 more projects to get to…may be a late nighter!  So we had to keep it simple on this Limited Supplies Challenge with a list of what was allowed.  I think I’ve followed the rules…I’m using patterned paper, but it’s aqua mist so I figured that was okay :) I used:

stamps: Frilly Flowers and Pretty Peonies for the sentiment (don’t have Natural Beauties)

paper: white, aquamist

ribbon: non…didn’t have dotted hawaiian shores (just grosgrain and stitched)

buttons: chartreuse

ink: any so I used chartreuse, aquamist, hawaiian shores and black

extras: frilly flower and edger dies, bakers twine

Okay, onto the next challenge…I may skip over the shaving cream one for now and head to the DIY…LOVE making my own embellies :)  See you soon!
