Mother's Day Wishes

Hello friends!  Yikes! Where have I been?  Just busy with work and family and getting some Mother's Day cards ready to take into work.  I'll be sharing them over the next few weeks, starting with this one for the PTI Blog Hop today.  Here's the inspiration photo...

I was not feeling the literal meaning of this image, so I went "impressionistic," that is, my impression of the colours, the circles, and stitched lines, all on a neutral background.  I really love how the Rosie Posie flowers came together :)  Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the hop!

Thanks for Everything

Hey there friends!  I'm sharing a card I made for the PTI Make it Monday challenge.  We are being asked to use a script sentiment with ink and a brush to make a watercolour effect.  What do you think?  Does it look like I hand painted the "thanks"?  I think so!  Thanks for stopping by!  We have been experiencing gorgeous weather here in the interior of BC...27 degrees Celsius, the perfect Moe temperature!  Hope you are enjoying some spring weather too :)

Just a Note ~ Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge

Hi everyone!  I'm back with the newest challenge over on the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge blog.  This time we’re inspired by this photo…

When I saw the gorgeous script in the photo, I immediately thought of my new Concord & 9th Sophisticated Script Stamp Set.  When I saw how Laurie Willison was using it, I had to have my own.  It's so easy to join the letters and make it look hand written.  A little gold flourish cut from Verve's Flourished Tag Die Set was the perfect embellishment.

Many Blessings on Your Birthday

Hello everyone!  Popping in with a card I've made for the PTI Create Along with Us challenge.  I just love the soft look of Melissa's card...

Ptifjar10

I tried to recreate the frame by using 2 stitched rectangles and then a similar layout and colours.  I can't wait to get those bold sentiments on the 15th!  Thanks for stopping by!  If you are itching to buy some Papertrey Ink, check out my Papertrey Ink For Sale page!

A little tropical flair is in the air for inspiration this month. Bright pinks, aquas, golden tones and a touch of white promise easy breezy days ahead. There's no script for this inspiration... go floral, keep it modern, follow our colour pattern or forge your own path, just show us your tropical chic inspired creations.

Oh, what an inspiration photo!  I used some new stamps with some older dies to create my thank you card.  First up, I die cut my banners from the Flag it Die Set and the Scroll Die.
Then I used a couple of sentiments from Simply Amazing along with a Fantastic die cut using the Amazing Adjectives Word Die Set.  I hope you'll play along with use this month!  Head over to the Verve blog for more details or just link up your card below!

Just Because

Hi everyone!  Today's card is for the PTI Make it Monday Challenge: Colour Isolation.  I used Soft Stone and a sentiment from Scripted to create my neutral background.  Then I die cut the same sentiment from Raspberry Fizz.  The flowers are from Friendly Flower.  Oh, we have been having glorious weather here and I can't wait for the weekend!  We'll be back out in the garden getting it ready for the spring and summer :)  Thanks for stopping by and if you are itching for some new PTI, check out my Papertrey Ink For Sale page!

Clearly Besotted Release Day!

Hi everyone!  I’m back with my last card for the Clearly Besotted Stamps April Release.  All the stamps and dies are on sale later today (10:00 BST) over in the CBS shop so be sure to go and check everything out!

I've been waiting to try this distress ink technique by Jennifer McGuire.  This set, A Better You, was perfect to get started.  I stamped the outline in black Archival Ink, then stamped the solid image in distress ink.  The fun began when I spritzed water on the solid image!  I LOVE the way it took on a watercolour effect.

Clearly Besotted Teaser Time ~ Day 4

Hello friends!   I'm back today with another Clearly Besotted teaser as we countdown to the April release on the 5th.

Game On is a set full of all types of sports.  I chose this fun "football" (unfortunately we call it soccer in Canada, although, according to my son, we are trying to change this).  I created the large football with a hexagon embossing folder and a circle die!  I thought it would be the perfect background for this adorable little athlete :)

Clearly Besotted Teaser Time ~ Day 3

Hello friends!  I'm back today with another Clearly Besotted teaser as we countdown to the April release on the 5th.

I had created this embossed/watercolour background last week and it was patiently waiting to be used on a card.  I was playing around with these gorgeous gold butterfly die cuts and then placed them on the embossed background and voila, this card was on its way.  I just LOVE the large sentiments in Brushed Greetings 2.  They definitely make an impact.  I stamped the sentiment on vellum and attached it with 2 staples, one of my favourite ways to attach vellum!

I'm also entering this card in the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #23.  I've added dimension with the white embossing on my background and the layered butterfly.

Clearly Besotted Teaser Time ~ Day 2

Hello friends!  It’s a brand new month so that means we’re sharing some Clearly Besotted teasers with you as we countdown to the April release on April 5th!

Oh my!  How cure are these meerkats from Got Your Back?  I didn't know much about these sweet little animals so I Googled them and found these fun facts on the Live Science site.

  1.  They are found in the deserts and grasslands of Africa.
  2.  Meerkats live together in big groups. Several meerkat families may live together to form a community called a mob, gang or clan.
  3.  They live in intricate tunnel systems underground called burrows, meerkats can stay safe from predators and cool during hot days.
  4. Every morning, meerkats start their day with grooming or lying in the sun. During the rest of the day, they forage for food.
  5.  Females give birth to one to eight babies (called pups) at a time.
  6.  The whole family, including the father and siblings, pitches in to help raise the new additions.

I especially like #4, grooming and lying in the sun, I would love that! LOL  Inspired by the fact that they live in large groups, I created my background with ALL the meerkat images in the set.  Since meerkats are so family oriented, I chose the "I've got your back," as that what my family believes in.

A Day Wrapped in Happiness ~ Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge

Hi everyone!  I'm back with the newest challenge over on the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge blog.  This time we’re inspired by this photo…

As you can see I was inspired by those hot neon colours and Spring!  Confession:  my card is not this neon in real life...I cheated a bit and played with my photo editing to really brighten the colours.  It's pretty bright IRL, just not so NEON! Lol.

Want to play along?  Head over to the Curtain Call blog for more inspiration and then join in the fun! Thanks for stopping by!
